She was baptized in the Roman Catholic Church of Guatemala, and her parents brought her up in the United Methodist Church. Julia attended Centenary College of Louisiana for her B.A. in Sociology where she also received her call to ministry in the spring of her sophomore year. Julia participated in the Centenary Orchestra all four years, and is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, a national honors music fraternity. We often judge people by one mistake. We never let them forget it, and we never let the world forget it. We tend to forget the good as soon as something goes wrong, which is unfair and very unhelpful. This is what happened to Thomas, one of the twelve disciples.
